Victor Labi
Victor Labi is based in New York City and has over 20 years’ experience in finance and capital markets. He attended Northeastern University, is bilingual in English and Hebrew and is the father of two children.
In the first part of his career, Victor worked at a number of notable Wall Street firms where he managed high net worth individual accounts totaling over half a billion dollars, and accumulated a significant book of business as a sales trader and execution broker while representing some of the most successful hedge funds in the U.S. He became an expert in financing small cap companies with sub-$100 million in revenue, and over the course of his career, Victor successfully raised select small cap companies hundreds of millions of dollars in growth capital and served in a variety of advisory roles for companies in the natural resource, technology and energy sectors.
In 2010, Victor joined Ubequity Capital Partners as Senior Managing Director in New York. While assisting the firm on the private equity side and building up the firm’s US capabilities, Victor leveraged Ubequity’s relationships in the natural resource sphere to spearhead the development of Ubequity’s physical commodities business. Over the last 18 months, Victor has established partnerships and trading relationships with many of the largest commodity trading houses in the world, as well as Fortune 500 producers and end-users, Russian, Asian and Middle Eastern refineries and oil & gas producers, Sovereign Funds, and Brazilian sugar and soybean mills and co-ops.
Victor now leads an international team that operates a thriving global trading business where Ubequity acts as both agent and principal transacting in major bulk energy, metals & minerals and agricultural commodities including D2, heating oil, JP54, crude oil, LNG and coal; iron ore, gold and copper; and sugar, soybeans, rice, powdered milk and cocoa. Through Victor’s efforts, Ubequity is now able to provide full end-to-end bulk commodity solutions from procuring product to providing funding and advising on and managing shipping, legal, banking and other financial logistics.
