Opportunity

We typically enter an opportunity at an early stage of a company's development or at a juncture where it needs to be restructured or reinvigorated. We operate quickly and aggressively, and place high demands on the companies with which we work. We only get involved in opportunities where we believe we can effect a sizeable improvement in the valuation or liquidity within 36 months. We take a significant proprietary interest, and then bring the full force of our global network to bear on the project, working hand-in-hand with the leaders of the company, to improve its prospects and accelerate its advancement.

Experience

We do not operate from any set formula. We view each opportunity as unique. Some need capital, or a more effective capital structure. Some need to de-leverage their balance sheets, or they need more leverage. Some need access to public markets to grow and to obtain liquidity; conversely, others need to be taken private. Some need strategic direction. Some need best-practices implementation. Some need better promotion to tell their story more effectively to investors and the capital markets. Some need geographical realignment. Some need to upgrade their ranks of directors and senior executives. Some need to merge with other companies to achieve critical mass, or to sell off divisions to rationalize their operations. We are solution-agnostic: it is the process of looking critically and creatively at a situation, and then rigorously executing an objective-based plan that generates success.

Determination

If we decide to become involved with a company, it is because we believe we have the tools to substantially improve it, and it is therefore worth risking our capital, resources, time and reputations on it.
