Last night, I had the pleasure to attend the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards. It was a fantastic event, with great food and great energy in the room. I loved listening to the speeches from the winners in each of the different categories, because they all shared some common elements, namely that there was tremendous struggle before success was finally achieved. Matthew Corrin, the dynamic founder of Freshii, talked about almost missing payroll twice in his first six months of operations, but rallied to open another store and then another and another.
